Blown Away
Just finished reading a most fantastic book. I was blown away!"The Jesus I Never Knew" by Philip Yancey. Wonder why I never picked this book up before?
Many people today, Christians and non-Christians alike, tend to look at Jesus in a ‘dignified’ manner. A tamed Jesus. He was a very real person as much as he was sinless. This book attempts to put things into perspective. I think that many times we read the Bible (in this case, the Gospels) through the foggy lens of ‘religiousity’ as we know it today.
Well, the cure, or a part of it i guess, would be to read the Bible without our own preconceived ideas about who God should be or who Jesus should be. Quoting David Pawson, "Jesus is not your cute-cuddly thing".
"I know men and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between Him and every other person in the world there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him." - Napoleon Bonaparte

Yes. Black is stylish. The last colour was a joke.
